Deacon:    Alan L Ebert

Alan was born on June 9, 1955 and is the son of Evelyn Ebert and the late Cecil Ebert of Natchitoches, La.

He accepted Christ at Calvary Baptist Church of Natchitoches on Feb. 27, 1972, and ordained as Deacon at Creston Baptist Church on Aug. 8,1988 with Bro. Charlie Bates officiating. He serves on the Maintenance and Cemetery Committees.

Alan graduated from Natchitoches Central High School in 1973 and married Debbie Thomas of Campti in 1974 at Campti Baptist Church. They are the parents of a daughter Brandy, and with her husband Adam Kaiser have blessed them with a grandson "Max".

Alan has been employed in the paper industry for over 32 years and currently works as crew leader for International Paper Co. in the Power and Recovery Department. His interests include hunting, yard work, tinkering with computers and vacationing at Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.





Deacon:    Thomas Kelly Hardee

Thomas "Kelly" Hardee is the son of the late John A. and Mattie Mae Slayton Hardee.  He was born in Campti, Louisiana on March 10, 1945. 

After completing high school in 1962, he married the former Judy Blocker on January 21, 1963.  They are the parents of Kelly (Kel), Jr. and Donna Hardee Lewis.  They have 5 grandchildren and are extremely proud of their great-grandchildren, Ella Camille, and "Thomas" Kelly Hardee, IV. 

Kelly is the owner/operator of Kelly Hardee Automotive in Natchitoches.  This is a family operation with Kelly, Sales/General Manager; Kel, Operations Manager; grandson, Trey, Service Manager; and Judy, Bookkeeper. Their daughter, Donna, is a pre-school teacher at Prompt Succor School in Alexandria.

Kelly accepted Christ at the age of 12 and was baptized at Campti Baptist Church.  He was ordained as Deacon in January of 2000 and has served in many areas of church leadership.  In addition to being a Deacon, Kelly is Asst Sunday School teacher, a member of the Adult Choir, and a member of the Building Committee for the new church construction.   





Deacon:    Robert A. "Bobby" Raynes

Robert A. "Bobby" Raynes is the son of the late James K. and Bennett Irby Raynes of Clarence, Louisiana.  He is the third of nine children.  Married to the former Jill Scallion Raynes, they are the parents of three children; Jason, Justin, and Rebecca.  Bobby and Jill are also the proud grandparents of Madison and Emma. 

Bobby made his profession of faith in Jesus Christ in 1975 and was ordained as Deacon in 1982.  He has served in every office of church leadership to include; various committees, Teacher, Choir Member, Sunday School Director, worked with Youth for 20 years, and has assisted with VBS every year since being saved.  Jill is also very active in church work and has been the Church Clerk since 2003. 





Deacon:    Melvin Harrison Stewart

Melvin Harrison Stewart is the son of the late Harrison Greenville Stewart and Ora Bell Regions Stewart.  He was born July 23, 1928 at Chestnut, LA.  There he attended Pilgrims Home Baptist Church and accepted Jesus as his Savior during a revival and was baptized in Black Lake.  This was in 1945, at the age of 17.

On October 2, 1946, he married Ruey Stevenson and they are the parents of Edith Anne, Lonnie Melvin, and Stacy Belle.  Because of his work, Bro. Melvin and his family lived in several other areas of the country and were active in many phases of church work in those areas. 

The Stewarts moved back to the Chestnut area in 1987 and returned to Pilgrims Home to worship. There, he was selected and ordained as Deacon with Bro. Lindel Stewart, Bro. Wayne Griffen and Bro. Randy Wiggins conducting the Ordination Service.  Later, when Pilgrims Home closed, he continued to serve as Deacon in other Southern Baptist Churches in the area.  On November 25, 2007, he and Ms. Ruey "united" with the newly formed United Baptist Church of Campti where he was later asked to become an active Deacon.  He accepted and was voted in by the church on September 10, 2008. 

Along with the duties of Deacon, Bro. Melvin and Ms. Ruey are very active in the church choir, singing duets for special music, and Ms. Ruey is one of the church's pianists.  





Deacon:    Robert Doyle Waddle

 

Robert Doyle Waddle is the son of Ms. Winnie Waddle and the late Willie Waddle.  He was born September 14, 1947 and has lived in the Campti area most of his life.  He is married to the former Barbara Brossett and they have two sons; Robbie (Robert Doyle, Jr.) and Keith Aaron.  They are the proud grandparents of Wesley, Zeffrey, Jason, and "Miss Emily."

Doyle is retired from Smurfit - Stone Container in Jonesboro where he was a Control System Technician.  He began this employment on January 31, 1983.  His duties at the papermill include working on instruments, programmable controllers, and electrical equipment.  After retirement, he and Barbara plans to travel, visit children and grandchildren, hunt, fish, and play golf. 

Doyle became a Christian in 1959 and was ordained as Deacon in 1995 at Campti Baptist Church.  Over the years, he has served in almost every area of church leadership.  In addition to being a Deacon, he has taught Sunday School, served on the Transition Team for Consolidation, a member of the Building Committee, and is Director of Music for the church.  





Deacon:    Michael "Mike" Watts

Michael Watts is the son of the late Arnold and JoAnn Robinson Watts.  He is the eldest of six children and is originally from Jonesboro, La. 

Mike joined the U. S. Army in 1972 and retired as a First Sergeant in 1996.  His overseas assignments included Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.  After retirement, he moved to his present location on Black Lake and enrolled at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and later received a Masters of Justice Administration from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. Mike is employed by Ware Youth Center as the Manager of the Bossier Juvenile Detention Facility.  His work and additional education has provided him much experience in counseling adolescents.  When not working, he enjoys hunting and fishing.

Michael accepted Christ as his Savior at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro as a youth.  After moving to this area, he transferred membership to Campti Baptist Church and was ordained as Deacon on June 25, 2006.  He is a charter member of United Baptist Church. In addition to being a Deacon, Mike has served as Church Moderator, Asst. Sunday School Teacher, assisted with Bible School and a member of various committees.
